The Annual Women of Distinction Awards event was created to spotlight and recognize the important role women play locally in the economy and in society. The honorees will represent the most distinctive women in business, government, education and not-for profit fields. They will be selected by a panel of independent business and community leaders based on their accomplishments and community involvement within Eastern Jackson County.

Moreover, an overall ‘Woman of the Year’ will be selected out of the 2017 honorees as well as the 2016 alumni and announced at the annual awards luncheon.
